5. PhD Position in Holistic Development of Tomographic Volumetric Additive Manufacturing for Hearing Health Care
Summary of PhD Positions:
During the last decade, the world has witnessed enormous development of additive manufacturing (AM) processes that offer unprecedented geometrical freedom. The speed, geometry, and surface quality of additive processes are linked to the layering of the materials. The sequential layer-by-layer operation of existing AM techniques hinders their performances. Moreover, the design freedom and productivity of current layer-wise processes are reduced by the need to support structures and may impart anisotropy in physical properties. These limitations of the current layer-by-layer AM techniques can potentially be eliminated by the Tomographic Volumetric (TV) 3D printing.

12. PhD Position in Integrated Photonic Circuits for Quantum Number Generation
Summary of PhD Positions:
The PhD project focuses on QRNGs. Random numbers are a key requirement for cryptographic schemes, they allow Monte Carlo-based simulations, and fundamental physical tests, and they are essential for the initialization of machine learning algorithms. Current RNGs are based on deterministic algorithms, thus undermining cryptographic security, as well as generating bias in the training of machine-learning algorithms. Alternatively, to these approaches, the nature of quantum mechanics, which is intrinsically random, is perfect for achieving this task. This makes QRNGs, and especially integrated QRNGs on-chip, key components for future computing and communication equipment.

19. PhD Position in Modeling Directed Motion of Nanoparticles in the Eye with Laser Light
Summary of PhD Positions:
Chronic diseases of the retina and optic nerve (CDRON) result in irreversible vision loss and eventual blindness, affecting millions of people worldwide. Treatment involves direct injection of large quantities of drugs into the vitreous humor, but most of the drugs never reach the retina at the back of the eye due to the flow that runs from the back to the front of the eye. So efficient treatment requires frequent injections, which is not without risk to the eye (e.g, inflammation) and often results in poor patient compliance. We will lay the theoretical foundation for pushing nanoparticles over centimeter-long distances against a flow for targeted treatment in ocular drug delivery. Your overall focus will be to explore and model different physical transport mechanisms for moving nanoparticles in both uniform and structured media, e.g., in gels, with laser light.

Summary of PhD Positions:
The Department of Electrical and Photonics Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) invites applicants for a 3-years PhD position in the area of diagnosis and fault-tolerant control for wind turbines. The roadmap of implementing the Green Transition in Energy both at national and international level includes the development of systems that increase the availability (up-time) of wind turbines. 29. PhD Position in Compositional Simulation of Reactive Transport in CO2 Storage
Summary of PhD Positions:
CO2 injection into geological formations triggers complex physical and chemical interactions between fluids and minerals. They take place at different time and length scales and are critical to the evaluation of subsurface capacities, operational risks, and storage safety. To reduce the uncertainty, we need to carry out dynamic simulations describing this multiscale process with multiple physics. Although several simulators are available for simulating underground CO2 storage, there is an urgent need to improve the robustness and efficiency of CO2 storage simulation when a compositional description is used.
