6. Postdoctoral Positions in development of a membrane fouling sensor
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowships:
Membrane fouling is a central challenge in membrane filtration as it reduces performance significantly in terms of capacity, selectivity and operational expenses. Several efforts have been conducted to describe and predict membrane fouling by models, but complexity of fouling calls for sensors to monitor fouling in situ during filtration. In the project “3ω sensing in dynamic contexts” we will develop a sensor technology to be integrated into membranes to measure fouling formation locally on membranes during filtration. This is based on a fouling measurement principle from measuring thermal conductivity by applying a current to the membrane.
