Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Wilcox Laboratory in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Michigan Medical School and Rogel Cancer Center is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join a translational research group investigating the tumor microenvironment’s role in T-cell lymphomas. Unfortunately, most patients afflicted with these lymphomas will ultimately succumb to their disease. Improved understanding of T-cell lymphoma pathogenesis and the development of novel therapeutic strategies will be needed to address this challenge and improve outcomes for patients afflicted with these aggressive lymphomas.

Our group investigates the role of tumor microenvironment dependent factors (e.g. antigen, costimulation, cytokines) and transcriptional programs (e.g. GATA-3) that promote T-cell lymphomagenesis. The laboratory uses complementary mouse models and primary T-cell lymphoma specimens (in ex vivo and patient-derived xenograft studies) to address these fundamental and clinically relevant questions and is poised to clinically translate laboratory-based findings into novel therapeutic strategies. The lab has room for up to two new postdoctoral fellows.
