The Epeldegui lab, which is in the UCLA AIDS Institute, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA seeks a Post-Doctoral Scholar for a multiple year research appointment. The NIH grant funded position will work under the director of Marta Epeldegui, Ph.D., M.S., Associate Professor-in-Residence. Dr. Epeldegui’s research focuses in the role of immune dysfunction and cancer, especially AIDS-associated B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (ARL). ARL remains a significant problem even in the era of combination anti-retroviral treatment (cART). Her research work and others have shown that B cell activation and microbial translocation precede the development of ARL, with elevated levels of biomarkers associated with B cell activation and microbial translocation seen prior to ARL diagnosis.
