The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (MagLab) High B/T Facility in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate in Experimental Condensed Matter – low temperatures and high magnetic fields. Experience with experimental low-temperature techniques, especially with the operation of wet dilution refrigerators and with high magnetic field experiments, is preferred. The ideal candidate should also have experience with demagnetization cooling techniques and instrumentation development for research at low temperatures.
Primary duties of this position include supporting experiments at temperatures down to 1 mK and in magnetic fields up to 16 T, extreme environments which enable user research of novel quantum states and materials, and that require the simultaneous operation of dilution refrigerators and superconducting magnet systems.
