Identification and Functional Analysis of Novel Genetic Interactions and Vulnerabilities in KRAS Mutant Solid Tumors. The Cancer Genetics and Genomics Department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute is searching for an ambitious PhD biologist for a postdoctoral research project in the Identification and Functional Analysis of Novel Genetic Interactions and Vulnerabilities in KRAS Mutant Solid Tumors. Projects will be oriented around one or some combinations of the following topics: identification and characterization of novel tumor suppressor genes and/or oncogenes; and the study of their dysfunction mechanisms (focusing on epigenetics and tumor metabolism) in lung cancer and/or pancreatic cancer (e.g., using cell culture, animal models). Applications are sought for a Post-Doctoral or Research Associate position in the Department of Cancer Prevention and Control at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The candidate will take part in NIH-funded projects on HPV infection and related diseases in high-risk populations. Our laboratory studies and develops adoptive T cell therapies targeting solid tumors. The postdoctoral scientist will focus on developing genetically engineered T cells starting from the molecular cloning phase of cell therapy development, and then advancing to preclinical in vitro work and clinically relevant mouse models. A strong background in immunology and molecular biology will allow the successful applicant to be creative within the lab, enhancing T cell function and tumor targeting for optimal patient translation and high impact publication.
