The Image Analysis Research Scientist will design, create, and implement workflows to analyze and interpret spatial (2D and 3D) and spatiotemporal (4D) data collected through the Bindley Bioscience Center’s imaging, mass spectrometry, and genomics core facilities, and through the Purdue Animal Behavior Core. Collaborate with Purdue faculty and Bindley/PABC scientists and staff to conduct research in the life sciences and to develop novel technologies and tools for analysis and integration of imaging, neurobehavioral, and spatial ‘omics data. Additionally, the individual in this role will train faculty, students, and staff in the use of image processing and data analysis tools.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Chad C. Carroll, Ph.D., at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN., is seeking to hire a post-doctoral fellow interested in tendon biology. The long-term goal of Dr. Carroll’s research is to determine the mechanisms contributing to poor tendon health and discover approaches for normalizing tendon function. Dr. Carroll’s multi-faceted research program has projects focused on endogenous circulating mediators of tendon pathology. These mediators include advanced glycation end-products (AGEs) and hormones such as estrogen. His work also focuses on nutritional interventions and how their combination with exercise can modify tendon health. Work in our laboratory spans the translational spectrum – from molecular biology experiments to test disease mechanisms to human clinical trials to test treatment efficacy.

3. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Applications are invited for position of Postdoctoral Research Associate to work with Dr. Bridgette Kelleher. Dr. Kelleher is an associate professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences, Principal Investigator of the Neurodevelopmental Family Lab, and Director elect of the Purdue Autism Research Center. Dr. Kelleher’s research uses telehealth-based methods to assess early development of children at risk for a variety of health outcomes, including autism. The candidate’s primary role will be to support Dr. Kelleher’s PANDABox project (Parent Assisted NeuroDevelopmental Assessment). PANDABox is a NIH-funded, open science protocol for remotely collecting laboratory-grade data from children at risk for atypical development via telehealth.

4. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

A driven postdoctoral associate is sought to join the neurotoxicology laboratory headed by Jason Cannon, Ph.D. The lab utilizes translationally relevant approaches to discover mechanisms of environmentally induced neurodegeneration and is well funded. The successful candidate will lead one of the following directions in the lab: 1) Neuromelanin-neurotoxicant interactions as primary mechanisms of dopaminergic neurotoxicity; 2) Adverse neurological outcomes induced by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS); and 3) Non-cholinergic targets of organophosphate induced neurodegeneration. In each of these projects, the successful applicant will have an opportunity to utilize comparative biology approaches as well as implement bidirectional translation, working across biological scale from primary mechanism of action through studies of human samples/subjects.

5. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

As part of Purdue’s growing investment in the life sciences, our recently funded research team is looking for two 3-year Postdoctoral Fellows to work in the area of genomic modeling of complex traits related to health and resilience in humans, livestock, or plants. The successful applicants will work under the supervision of Dr. Robbee Wedow (Department of Sociology, College of Liberal Arts), Dr. Matthew Tegtmeyer (Department of Biological Sciences, College of Science), Dr. Mitch Tuinstra (Department of Agronomy, College of Agriculture), and Dr. Luiz Brito (Department of Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture). The College of Agriculture at Purdue University is looking for a Post Doc Research Associate. The person in this position will take a lead role in developing and carrying out surveys of farmers and other relevant stakeholders to identify opportunities and barriers to organic farming systems in the region. The Post Doc will also assist with the identification of metrics that can be used to quantify the success of the project and work with the project team to collect and analyze data and track our efforts in meeting these metrics. Purdue University Northwest, located in Hammond and Westville, Indiana is inviting applications for a post-doctoral research associate position in experimental high energy physics to work on the CMS experiment at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland. The group has played a leadership role in the construction of the CMS Forward Pixel Detector at the Silicon Detector Facility at Fermilab and in developing its geometry description for simulation and the CMS Alignment and Calibration Database group. We are involved with the HL-LHC upgrades of the Forward Pixel Detector, activities of the LHC Physics Center (LPC) at Fermilab and physics analysis in the New Searches Beyond the Standard Model sectors.
