The Droujinine Lab develops novel methods to identify and characterize novel secreted factors that coordinate organ and organism functions in homeostasis and disease in mammalian systems. To that end, we established an in vivo global proteomic platform to investigate secreted protein trafficking between organs in mice. Multiple non-viral factors have also been implicated in the development of HCC. The development of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) represents high-risk factors for HCC. Our lab demonstrated that cyclophilin inhibitors alone or in combination with new attractive drugs suppress the development of liver fibrosis and HCC in mouse models.
