8. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

An open postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Department of Genetics under the direct supervision of Dr. George T. Eisenhoffer. Research in the Eisenhoffer laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms regulating epithelial tissue homeostasis and how disruptions promote pathogenesis and cancer using zebrafish and cultured cells. We use time-lapse confocal microscopy coupled with genetic manipulations to identify molecular components regulating epithelial cellular processes such as cell detachment, migration, and proliferation. The goal of our studies is to identify new mechanisms controlling the maintenance of overall cell numbers in epithelial tissues and provide new insights into endogenous processes that can be leveraged to disrupt cancer formation and progression.
