Using genomic and proteomic approaches, cancer patient specimen analysis and mouse models of diverse cancer types, Dr. Ren’s lab mainly focuses on elucidating how mesenchymal lineage cells and immunoregulatory myeloid cells modulate the adaptive immune responses in treatment resistance and metastatic relapse. The laboratory focuses on cell polarity mechanisms and their impact on the morphogenesis of sensory “hair” cells in the mouse auditory and vestibular organs, including hearing and balance ability.
