3. Postdoctoral Positions in Pharmacology & Systems Physiology

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowships:

Dr. James Herman at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Department of Pharmacology & Systems Physiology is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on their recently funded multi-PI NIH grant. The project explores the idea that altered activity in brain stress-reward circuits drives the stress-buffering effects of pleasurable behaviors. More specifically, it identifies the neurocircuit mechanisms by which chronic engagement with a natural (food) reward protects from the adverse consequences of chronic stress on anxiety- and sociability-related behaviors. The experiments use a variety of methodological approaches, including neuroanatomical tract tracing, DREADDs, and a variety of behavioral tests.
