The ISU group is a leading institution on the Accelerator Neutrino Neutron Interaction Experiment (ANNIE). This experiment is an advanced R&D detector at Fermilab, designed to measure the neutron yield of GeV-scale neutrino interactions in gadolinium-doped water. To accomplish this measurement, ANNIE will rely on newly developed Large Area Picosecond Photodetectors (LAPPDs) and the development of novel experimental techniques. The first of these LAPPDs has been installed in ANNIE, with more to come over the coming months. An ambitious postdoctoral researcher will be entering the experiment at a time when we have exciting new data to analyze, but commissioning is still ongoing.
