At this site, we fully control precipitation over 60 hydrologically isolated plots containing multiple semiarid grassland plant functional types. Established measurements include plot-level gas exchange measurements of water, energy, and carbon exchanges, moisture and water potential probes at multiple depths, leaf psychrometers, and cutting-edge remote sensing techniques including hyperspectral, thermal, and SIF. The RainManSR facility allows for unprecedented insights into the interacting effects of hydroclimate disturbance on dryland plant physiology, above- and belowground coupled water, carbon, and nutrient cycling.
