The T&T initiative supports the study of religious and spiritual traditions and practices—ancient and modern, global in reach—that aim to transcend our normal states of being, consciousness, and embodiment, and thus to transform the individual, community, and society. We understand “psychedelic” to be a broad category, including psychoactive plants (and fungi), synthetic chemicals, and non-serotonergic substances. Proposals should specify the substance in question and the definition of “psychedelic” being assumed in the project. We encourage research projects from a range of disciplines (e.g. history, philosophy, religious studies, anthropology), and the chronological period and geographic focus is open.

2. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Neuromotor Control Lab at Harvard University, under the direction of Dr. Maurice Smith, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study human motor learning and motor control. The lab is in the Harvard Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The fellow will design and run human experiments, perform data analysis, and create computational models of learning and memory. A PhD is required. An ideal candidate will be: highly motivated with a record of high scientific productivity, possess strong skills in data analysis, and have a strong background in the neuroscience, learning and memory, motor control, biomechanics, control theory, or a related field. Strong statistical understanding and a talent for data analysis and visualization using Matlab or Python are expected. Specific experience with experimental design, computational modeling, and

3. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Join an interdisciplinary research team of the Cluzel laboratory at Harvard that focuses on advancing the frontiers of biological imaging, microfluidics and understanding intracellular processes. We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to develop novel techniques for real-time characterization of intracellular processes using fluorescence microscopy and fluctuation correlation spectroscopy (FCS). Important Note: No formal knowledge in biology is required for this position.

Responsibilities:
Design and build an apparatus based on fluctuation correlation spectroscopy (FCS) for real-time characterization of intracellular processes such as gene expression and protein aggregation in living cells.
Conduct experiments using fluorescence microscopy and FCS techniques to study dynamic cellular processes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize experimental protocols and analyze data.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at conferences and seminars.
Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in the project.
