A Research Associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Charleston Chiang at USC. The Chiang lab utilizes cutting-edge analytic tools to address questions at the intersection of human medical and population genetics. In particular, we have a strong interest in using genomic data to understand the evolution and architecture of complex traits and the history of diverse human populations. These insights will be critical for future medical genetics studies and in practicing personalized medicine. The successful candidate will be involved in research from multiple projects in the lab, and will have substantial input in the nature and the direction of the ongoing research projects within the lab. The ongoing research include learning about demographic history or natural selection from genetic variation data, or understanding genetic architecture and evolutionary history of complex traits in diverse populations.

The PostDoc position involves working on DOE and NSF funded projects, advancing the knowledge about distributed systems, developing novel algorithms for distributed resource and workload management, simulating and emulating systems, as well as experimentation and evaluation at scale. 6. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

A postdoctoral research position in cancer and genetic epidemiology is available at the USC Center for Genetic Epidemiology within the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences at USC. The applicant must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent qualification) with training in epidemiology, biostatistics and/or statistical genetics. The postdoctoral fellow will work directly with Drs. Chris Haiman and David Conti on analyzing risk factors, genetic and other omics data from diverse cohorts including the Multiethnic Cohort study, the RESPOND African American prostate cancer study and other large-scale genetics consortia (e.g. NHGRI PAGE and PRIMED. In addition to cancer, non-cancer outcomes will also be examined including anthropometric traits, diabetes and biomarkers, such as lipids, glucose, insulin or inflammatory markers.

The Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar-Research Associate to study brain tumor biology in the Modrek Laboratory.
