We are interested in candidates with graduate or post-graduate level expertise in research on host-pathogen interactions. Our projects focus on understanding the interaction between Streptococcus pneumoniae and neutrophils during the course of lung infection and host immune response during vaccination. The overall goal is to uncover the temporal changes in transcriptional and signaling profiles of the host and bacteria during infection in naïve and vaccinated hosts with an ultimate goal of improving preventative approaches.
