The School of Humanities invites applications for two Senior Research Associates. They will be core members of the Leverhulme Trust-funded research project, ā€˜Welfare Citizenship and Intersectional Feminismā€™. The project will foreground intersectional feminist responses to welfare disparities that impact Black and South Asian communities (1940-2000). The project draws together relevant public and private archives, oral history testimony, and transcontinental research material. Together, the research team (PI, 2 Senior Research Associates and a doctoral student) will cover case studies in Britain, Africa and the Caribbean (SRA1) and South Asia (SRA2).

We are seeking a talented epidemiologist/biostatistician, with a relevant PhD/MSc or equivalent experience to work with us on the biological mechanisms behind human scarring. This will be work using human genetics, mouse and zebrafish models to explore the aetiology of wound healing and scarring. Applications are invited to a Postdoctoral Research Associate (or in exceptional circumstances Senior Research Associate) position, working in interpretation of exoplanet atmospheric observations with Dr Hannah Wakeford in the Astrophysics Group at the University of Bristol. This role will involve provision of research support for activities linked to a larger project on ā€˜The Right to Strikeā€™ involving the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) based in Brussels and the Solidarity Center, Washington DC, USA. The University of Bristol Law School is responsible for one part of the project, namely to ā€˜Produce Original Legal Research That Reconceptualizes the Right to Strike so as to be Effective in the 21st Centuryā€™. The research associate will work with the PI on producing an edited book and/or special issue of a journal, compiling different perspectives on legal protection of a right to strike, globally, regionally and domestically.
