2. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are looking for a Research Fellow to join the QUB Marine Biology Research Group to play a key role in the TRIDENT programme. TRIDENT is tasked with developing technologies and recommended protocols within the European context for managing and monitoring (in real time) the environmental impacts of deep-sea mining. This 18-month full-time PDRA research position will assist Dr Collins in fulfilling QUB’s obligation in the TRIDENT project and will be assisted by an additional PDRA to be appointed at the same time. 3. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EEECS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is seeking a Research Fellow to fabricate and test high quality factor MEMS oscillators for high temperature applications. This research funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) under “New Horizon” research scheme aims to develop a new oscillator-based sensor chip capable of operating at high temperature. This is a unique opportunity to build the next generation MEMS sensors and work at one of the leading institutions in the United Kingdom, Queen’s University Belfast. 4. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The major part of the role will be to undertake and progress research projects in the area of prostate cancer epidemiology. This will include serving as the point of contact for a World Cancer Research Fund project ‘Periprostatic adipose tissue and aggressive prostate cancer risk: a prospective study’ and collaborating with co-investigators to progress the project aims and objectives. Additionally, performing analyses within the Northern Ireland Cancer Registry to assess the role of prescription medication use in prostate cancer outcomes, analyses of existing molecular epidemiology datasets in collaboration with local and international colleagues, and preparation of applications to use publicly available data and subsequent analyses of these datasets. The role will also involve supporting the PhD and MSc students in dataset preparation and cleaning, and statistical / bioinformatics analysis.

The School of Natural and Built Environment (NBE) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to be a highly productive, ambitious and collaborative member of the SAPHIRE Peatland Research Group assisting in the planning and delivery of research activity. The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you:

  • Have or are about to obtain a PhD or equivalent qualification involving collection, analysis and synthesis of physical hydrological data using distributed numerical models to simulate rainfall runoff responses. This may include but is not restricted to a PhD in Earth

The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced research team, led by Dr Gary Mitchell, to co-design and field-test a digital intervention to optimise diabetes care in nursing home settings.
