The Ucar lab is seeking motivated computational scientists interested in studying how epigenomes of human immune cells change with age and diseases including COVID-19. We use diverse approaches in genomics, bioinformatics, systems biology and immunology to understand how epigenetic regulation of gene expression programs are disrupted by genetics and environment. 6. Postdoctoral Position in Tumor Microenvironment and Tumor Immunology
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
A postdoctoral associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Gary Ren to study tumor microenvironment and tumor immunology in cancer therapy resistance and metastatic relapse. Using genomic and proteomic approaches, cancer patient specimen analysis and mouse models of diverse cancer types, Dr. Ren’s lab mainly focuses on elucidating how mesenchymal lineage cells and immunoregulatory myeloid cells modulate the adaptive immune responses in treatment resistance and metastatic relapse.
These studies will fully take advantage of the unique research platform at JAX–patient-derived xenograft (PDX) tumors in humanized mouse models, with the research goal to develop novel strategies targeting tumor microenvironment to improve the efficacies of conventional cancer therapies and new therapeutics such as immunotherapy.

The focus of the lab is to determine how brain circuits reorganize after a stroke, contributions of these reorganizational process to motor function, molecular signatures that drive recovery and therapeutic targets for stroke.
