Candidates interested in Postdoctoral Fellowships can check the details and may apply as soon as possible.

1. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Lessard lab is seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow with experience in computational sciences to join our research team. Our research investigates the regulatory functions that control gene expression within the complex landscape of the three-dimensional genome and how genetic variations influence these regulatory functions to cause human diseases such as Sjögren’s syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and other autoimmune diseases.

We perform a wide variety of high-throughput sequencing technologies in both bulk and single cell technologies: genotyping arrays, RNA-seq, single cell (sc)RNA-seq, Perturb-seq, long sequence Nanopore sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, etc. In addition, we leverage gene-editing technologies, i.e. CRISPR/Cas9 editing, to functionally characterize non-coding regulatory regions of the genome in the context of native 3D chromatin regulatory network using 3C technologies (3C-qPCR, etc.) and promoter capture Micro-C.

2. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We focus on the interface between cellular metabolism and vascular biology and have a proven track record in this field (Circulation Research, 2010; Circulation, 2012; Nature, 2017; J. Biol. Chem., 2021). The successful candidates will work on research projects that study the crosstalk between metabolic programs and angiogenic signaling and the involvement of cellular metabolism in the pathogenesis of vascular diseases. Multidisciplinary strategies will be used, ranging from novel genetically modified mouse models to cutting-edge systems biology tools including metabolomics and single-cell transcriptome analysis.

3. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Rankin Lab is seeking a Post-doctoral Fellow to study chromosome assembly and dynamics, how these events are controlled, and how corruption of these processes contributes to disease. Our lab forms part of the Program in Cell Cycle and Cancer Biology, which offers an excellent training environment in a state-of-the-art facility. We use a variety of experimental models, including cultured cells, biochemistry, extracts from frog eggs, and advanced microscopy to address problems of chromosome structure, replication, and inheritance. Experience directly related to this field is not necessary, but basic molecular biology skills are preferred.

Applicants should demonstrate enthusiasm for the topic, willingness to learn, and the ability to work independently to develop their project(s), analyze experiments, and prepare manuscripts. Successful candidates will have good written and verbal communication skills and be willing to engage fully in lab and departmental activities. During their tenure in the Rankin lab, fellows will receive significant career development support. They can also expect to attend training courses as well as scientific conferences, where they can present their work and establish their presence in the research community.

4. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Ocañas Lab is interested in understanding how biological sex contributes to brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease. We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join the multidisciplinary Ocañas Laboratory within the Genes and Human Disease (GHD) Research Program at OMRF. The fellow will investigate how ovarian aging and altered endocrine signaling impacts neuroinflammation in the hippocampus.

The successful candidate will employ a wide range of techniques including the generation of novel mouse models, single-cell transcriptomics, epigenomics, flow cytometry, histology & pathological assessments, and a variety of other cellular & molecular biology techniques. The candidate will present their data regularly in laboratory meetings, local seminars and symposiums, and will have opportunities to present their work at national conferences. A requirement of the position is that the candidate must demonstrate ethical behavior at all times, a high-level of scientific rigor, and must be detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team.
