Summary of PhD Program:
This Ph.D. position is motivated by the need for reliable visualization and data analysis methods that support understanding of the increasing amount of scientific data, e.g. from image acquisition modalities or scientific simulations. Efficient algorithms are at the core of most of these data analysis and visualization applications. The focus of this Ph.D. will be developing efficient and reliable algorithms that arise in the context of topological data analysis and rendering for the visualization of large amounts of data. Close cooperation with other visualization projects in various application areas is expected.

Summary of PhD Program:
The Information Coding Division (ICG) within the Department of Electrical Engineering (ISY) at Linköping University uses, among others, information theory to develop future-proof communication, identification, and computation methods for future (classical and quantum) networks. Our aim is to approach the ultimate security and privacy performance limits with low-complexity methods. Applications of these methods include physical layer security, private distributed learning, post-quantum cryptography, quantum communications, cybersecurity, security based on the unique features of hardware components, etc.

Summary of PhD Program:
As a PhD student in FunMat-II, you will conduct application-inspired fundamental research on materials synthesis with physical vapor deposition (PVD) and materials behavior. The work is primarily experimental but in close collaboration with theoreticians. You will be part of a larger research team that is doing collaborative research. Your team members are located at Linköping university and at industrial companies that are partners of the center. The primary focus of this PhD student position is research on how to make large language models more trustworthy and factual. The research is led by Professor Fredrik Heintz who will be the main supervisor. The research is part of an EU project called TrustLLM coordinated by Linköping University. As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your task as a PhD student will be to conduct world-class research in cybersecurity as part of the project “Protocol security verification using dynamic key structures” funded by the ELLIIT strategic research initiative and carried out in collaboration with Lund University. The aim of the project is to tackle the inherent computational complexity of protocol security analysis by providing the means and the tools to leverage model structures (e.g., dynamic key dependencies) in models of security mechanisms and to use these structures to automate security analysis.
