Our research lab is seeking a highly motivated and independent individual to join our team as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. Chi lab focuses on understanding genetic determinants, molecular mechanisms, and disease relevance of ferroptosis, a novel form of cell death and mammalian stress response. The successful candidate will conduct independent research activities under the guidance of a faculty mentor in preparation for a full-time academic or research career. The candidate must have experience in mouse work and animal models of cancer, as well as the ability to manage research projects and animal colonies for the Chi lab.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
This position is to develop and apply innovative statistical, computational, and machine-learning methods to analyze cutting-edge single-cell and spatial genomics data in pulmonary research. There is a unique opportunity to discover functions and behaviors of cells in lung tissues and identify potential biomarkers related to various pulmonary diseases including lung allograft dysfunction and lung fibrosis. This position will be jointly supervised by Drs. Zhicheng Ji, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, and Scott Palmer, the Donald F. Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The overall goal of this position to develop new statistical for analyzing and interpreting high throughput genomic assays designed to study combinatorial gene regulation in the human genome. The position is funded through a recently awarded NHGRI Center of Excellence (CEGS) in Genome Science. The focus of the Duke CEGS is to develop new and high-throughput technologies to investigate how combinatorial gene regulation contributes to human health and disease. A multidisciplinary team of seven Duke principal investigators leads the project. The postdoctoral associate hired for this position will report directly to PI Dr. Andrew Allen.
