We will isolate, map, quantify and catalog these waves of dark and light which subtly modulate the cellular cloud structure and texture. Techniques include using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) or other texture-tracking methods, linking the flow divergence to wave-related cloud brightening and darkening through vertical motion. Candidates should have knowledge about the science of thin-layer fluid flow and cloud-topped boundary layers. Desirable skills include image-processing techniques such as PIV, Fourier analysis, and perhaps newer methods from computer vision, preferably in Python.
