This Research Associate/Fellow position will involve work on a project entitled ‘Tools for probing mitochondrial function in symbiotic dinoflagellates’, funded by the Gordon and Betty Moore foundation as part of their Aquatic Symbiosis programme. 4. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Applications are invited for a Research Associate/Fellow to work on a BBSRC funded project to develop novel stem cell lines from livestock species in the laboratory of Dr Masaki Kinoshita (Sutton Bonington Campus, University of Nottingham, UK). In this project we seek to understand the molecular regulation of pluripotency in livestock embryos and stem cells. We aim to develop novel chimaera competent stem cell lines from livestock embryos and characterise them using next generation sequencing based approach.

The differentiation potential of these cells will be assessed both in vitro and in vivo, therefore experience with or strong willingness to learn micromanipulation of embryos is required. This position will be especially suited to candidates with interest in stem cell biology, chimaeric animal production and primordial germ cell differentiation. This post offers a unique opportunity to work in stem cell biology with farmed animals and to develop skills in state-of-the-art technologies.
