1. Fully Funded PhD Position in Language Studies (DPLA)
Summary of PhD Program:
The Doctoral Program in Language Studies (DPLA) in the ITC Faculty is inviting applications for fixed-term employment. The positions are intended for students who have a valid right to study in the DPLA. The aim of the fixed-term assignment is either to bring the dissertation to the pre-examination phase or to finalize a clearly defined stage of the dissertation such as data collection, an article in an article-based dissertation, or a chapter of a monograph. The fixed terms will be 2-3 months each. The total amount of funded months depends on the job requirement level of successful candidates. Fixed-term employments must take place during the year 2024. It will not be possible to postpone the funding.

8. Fully Funded PhD Position in Computational electromagnetics and electrical machines
Summary of PhD Program:
We are now looking for a Ph.D. student to join our team and to grow into an expert in modeling of electrical machines. The research work comprises of development of new finite element (FE) modeling techniques for electrical machine windings at high frequencies and is expected to be carried out by programming new FE solvers or using suitable open-source tools (in particular Gmsh and its Python API). Commercial FE software may be used for validation purposes, but not as the main research tool. Both magneto-quasistatic modeling and full-wave modeling will be considered.

9. Fully Funded PhD Position in Advanced Radio-based SLAM Algorithms for Vehicular Systems
Summary of PhD Program:
The Doctoral Researcher will enroll as a PhD student at TAU at latest by the date that their contract will start and will actively participate in all the research and training activities of ISLANDS network, including participation to regular networking events. There are also exciting opportunities for 3-month secondments at Nokia Bell Labs, Germany, and at USCD, CA, USA. The offered contract at TAU is for 36 months. The research work will focus on developing new radio-based simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithms and concepts for future connected vehicular systems and on assessing and evaluating the achievable performance. Main focus is on 5G-Advanced and future 6G networks, and facilitating SLAM capabilities in them.
