7. Fully Funded PhD Position in Political Ecology (Sustainability Studies)

Summary of PhD Program:

We are looking for an ambitious PhD student to analyze the political ecology of coastal urbanization by developing a qualitative case study on the labour and workers behind dredging and land reclamation in Singapore, an often invisiblized labour that nevertheless laid the foundation for this global city of finance and trade. The focus is on workers’ experiences, histories, migration, organization and everyday places. The project combines urban political ecology (UPE) and labour geography to understand how sediment, machinery and labor combine with industrial and financial capital to shape often unequal urbanization patterns.

8. 02 Fully Funded PhD Position in Fault-Resistant PQC Digital Signatures Implementations

Summary of PhD Program:

We are looking for two doctoral students to work on the project Fault-Resistant Software Implementations of Post-Quantum Digital Signatures, funded by Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP). At present, there are no effective methods for protecting cryptographic algorithms’ implementations from fault attacks, in which an adversary deliberately injects faults into cryptographic computations to extract sensitive information. This project aims to address this important open problem, with a particular focus on candidates in the ongoing NIST post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standardization process for additional PQC digital signature algorithms. We intend to take into account the impact of fault attacks on cryptographic implementation security both destructively (by devising new types of attacks) and constructively (by designing countermeasures).

9. Fully Funded PhD Position in AI-native Edge Computing for 6G

Summary of PhD Program:

6G networks are expected to deliver massive improvements in speed, responsiveness, and energy efficiency—and meeting these demands will require smart, distributed computing built directly into the network. This research project focuses on designing AI-native edge computing systems that can power the next generation of wireless infrastructure. We will explore how to combine heterogeneous computing platforms with distributed MIMO architectures to support both real-time AI workloads and traditional signal processing.
