The Phoenix Children’s Research Institute at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated full-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Schimmel lab. The Schimmel lab is a translational research lab that focuses on the pathogenesis and treatment of vascular diseases affecting the lung and the heart. Current projects seek to identify the molecular basis of arteriovenous malformations using a new genetic mouse line, and tissue and blood samples from human patients with the genetic disease hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia. Approaches make use of spatial omics, advanced imaging techniques such as 3D deep tissue staining, microCT, and synchrotron imaging, as well as bioinformatics analyses.
