Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine Tucson at the University of Arizona is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate. Gastrointestinal motility disorders are both common and challenging. There is lack of understanding of the underlying pathophysiology as well as the drugs used to alleviate patients suffering. We have pre-clinical data to support the use of Erythropoietin in gut motility disorders. We also have data to support investigating the use of 4AP in gut motility disorders. Our lab currently focuses on understanding the underpinning mechanism of how those therapeutic agents work on gut dysmotility. Our studies include both in-vivo and in-vitro experiments on small animals and should serve as pre-clinical studies towards establishing translation and clinical trials.
