We are currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with strong experimental and analytical skills to work within the lab of Dr. Shipra Agrawal in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Our lab research is focused on identifying and understanding the mechanisms and molecular pathways of podocyte and kidney injury with an aim of developing novel treatments for glomerular nephropathies. The Postdoctoral Associate will assist the Principal Investigator in the Department of Radiology. The incumbent will conduct research and ensure that all experiments are appropriately conducted following the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University. The successful incumbent will join Dr. Nashaat Turkman’s multidisciplinary team of chemists, neuroscientists, physicians and others at the Department of Radiology at Stony Brook University School of Medicine and Stony Brook Cancer Center.

The research focuses on development and synthesis of novel Positron Emission Tomography (PET) probes and theranostics for imaging and therapy applications in cancer and disorders of the central nervous system. All research projects will have components like organic chemistry, drug design, radiochemistry, in vitro and in vivo evaluation of PET imaging probes in live animal models with focus on clinical translation. Ability to perform multi-step organic syntheses, purifications and product characterization is a must.
