A Postdoctoral Associate position is available in Dr. Lisa Racki’s Lab at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA (rackilab.org) for a highly motivated scientist interested in bacterial chromatin and the role of chromatin in regulating bacterial phages. Specifically, this project will use phage and phage-derived tools to characterize the organization, structure, and dynamics of bacterial chromatin in the opportunistic human pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This project uses an integrative approach to study bacterial chromatin structure at multiple scales, from in vitro biochemistry, to quantitative single cell timelapse imaging using microfluidics, to macroscopic studies of biofilm communities.

The Droujinine Lab develops novel methods to identify and characterize novel secreted factors that coordinate organ and organism functions in homeostasis and disease in mammalian systems. To that end, we established an in vivo global proteomic platform to investigate secreted protein trafficking between organs in mice.
