Are you holding PhD degree and looking for Postdoctoral Fellowships? University of Gothenburg, Sweden invites multiple online application for Postdoctoral Fellowships in various research areas. Candidates interested in Postdoctoral Fellowships can check the details and may apply as soon as possible.
1. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
In this project, the postdoc will work with industry and academic partners in the development of alternative fish feeds, improving the nutrient potential of aquaculture wastes for revalorisation. The postdoc will participate in research aimed at implementable improvements to nutrient and energy cycling in aquaponic facilities, as well as contribute to the understanding of the mechanisms underlying these improvements. There is considerable latitude to adjust this project to a candidate’s skills and interests.
Application Deadline: March 31, 2023
2. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
In this project, industry and academic partners will (or are working) work closely to make improvements in CEA designs using sensors that collect data for parameters such as pH, turbidity, temperature, oxygen-carbon dioxide concentrations. Sensor outputs need to be integrated with programmable automation controllers that adjust parameters such as flow rates and nutrient dosing.
The use of machine learning and the ability to couple CEA systems with a digital twin for continuous and simultaneous sensor monitoring would make it possible to model and establish favourable environmental parameters. This would enable system operators to recognize differences between optimal and suboptimal conditions and develop reliable protocols that provide better insights for troubleshooting system perturbations and maintain balanced conditions. Visual cues and personal trial-and-error experience are unreliable in making adjustments to the system, and often not timely enough to optimise outputs.

3. Postdoctoral Position in Extracellular Vesicles
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The tasks involve development of utilization of extracellular vesicles for treatments with the capacity to modulate or block crucial signaling pathways in inflammatory or immunological diseases such as asthma, acute lung injury or sepsis, and to test these modified vesicles in vitro and in vivo in experimental models. The work consists of independently establishing robust large scale isolation protocols for extracellular vesicles both from eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, establish protocols for isolating artificial vesicles, efficient loading of molecules into extracellular vesicles/artificial vesicles, reliable uptake and delivery of vesicle and loaded molecules to recipient cells, and to establish animal models for respiratory inflammatory diseases, sepsis and lung injury. The work will include contact with involved cooperation partners.
Application Deadline: 2023-03-21
4. 02 Postdoctoral Position in Marine GHG Biogeochemistry
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We have two postdoc positions open to work on these research lines. The first postdoc will look at natural N2O and CH4 emissions from fjords for evaluating the importance of fjords in oceanic trace gas budgets (project funded by the Swedish Research Council VR). The postdoc will participate and organize research cruises to Sweden, Norway and Iceland both on large vessels and small boats; carry out in situ flux measurements and water/sediment sampling; carry out laboratory experiments to measure C- and N cycling processes; measure concentration and isotopic compositions of CH4 and N2O in our labs.
Application Deadline: 26 March 2023

5. Postdoctoral Position in Political Science
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The aim of this new project is to 1) map how Swedish maternal and delivery healthcare changed during the COVID-19 pandemic, 2) clarify the differences in healthcare provision that appeared across regions, and understand 3) what consequences these differences had for the health of the pregnant mother and the child. Data will come from the world-leading national quality register the Swedish Pregnancy Register and from our unique longitudinal surveys with pregnant women that happened to already be in place before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Application Deadline: 2023-04-11
6. Postdoctoral Position in human pregnancy genomics/ epidemiology
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Identify and assess risk factors affecting gestational age in humans. The projects include investigation of large genomic datasets (bead-chip microarray genotyping) and pregnancy-related phenotypes, medical registers and food-frequency questionnaires. The applicant will formulate and test hypotheses as well as use hypothesis-free scans and generating new hypotheses. The tasks include writing scientific reports and project proposals, acquiring ethical approvals, as well as authoring and co-authoring research manuscripts, including the submission to the journal process.
Application Deadline: 2023-03-31

7. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The employment is linked to a project to study new biochemical protein markers for Alzheimer’s disease, and other brain disorders, but also acute hypoxic or traumatic brain damage. Job assignments include to validate and evaluate new analytical methods, and to perform clinical neurochemical studies using these tests. The analytical methods include immunoassays, primarily the cobas Elecsys technique. Assignments also include administrative work linked to the projects, such as preparing data reports, reagent files and also managing project agreements.
Application Deadline: 2023-03-23
8. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
In this position large part of the work is lab-based with a focus on deep sequencing, including routine service to researchers, development of new methods as well as their implementation to be offered as service. The work is carried out independently or together with other group members and requires flexibility and ability to adapt to the different tasks. It is also important to be able to carry out experiments based on the researchers’ scientific demands in a time-efficient and quality-conscious manner.

9. Postdoctoral Position in Radiology
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The researcher will work within a group of experienced MR physicists and in close interaction with clinical investigators. State-of-the-art 3T Philips and GE clinical MR scanners, including pulse sequence development environments, are available to conduct the research. A main focus will be the optimization of advanced diffusion imaging protocols and quantitative analysis of complex water diffusion in tissues for improved cancer detection. Another focus will be the the implementation of accelerated MR diffusion imaging methods and complementary image reconstruction software. There is certain flexibility in research focus, depending on the skills of the candidate.
Application Deadline: 2023-03-30
10. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The main task will be implementing a single-cell pipeline to perform imaging of cells in isolation followed by single-cell RNA sequencing. This will be done using a CellCelector system and other custom-made cherry-picking systems. Methods to perform single-cell sequencing such as SmartSeq2 and 10X genomics will be adapted and implemented in the lab. These tasks will be combined with the generation and analysis of spatial transcriptomics data. Finally, the candidate will perform data analysis and integration among all the generated categories of data. Therefore it is important to have experience analyzing multimodal single-cell data and in particular imaging data combined with sequencing data.
Application Deadline: 2023-03-29
11. Postdoctoral Position in Political Science
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The post-doctoral researcher will work on a project within the framework of a larger research environment, “Combining Satellite Images and Artificial Intelligence to Measure Poverty between 1982-2020.” Adel Daoud (Linköping University) leads the larger research environment via the AI and Global Development Lab (global-lab.ai), which is implemented in collaboration with researchers at GU, Linköping University, Chalmers University of Technology, and Harvard University. The larger project considers how competing development programs (e.g., Chinese, World Bank, EU) affect African communities’ abilities to exit the poverty cycle. The project draws on mixed methods, including the use of satellite images analyzed via AI, case studies, focus groups and public opinion surveys.
Application Deadline: 2023-03-16
12. Postdoctoral Position in History
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
As postdoc, you are responsible for an independent study of the reception of refugees in three Swedish cities (Uppsala, Härnösand, and Linköping) during the Great Northern War (1700–1721), with a special focus on refugee agency. The source material consists mainly of petitions and sources from public administration (such as the cities’ magistrates, commissionary sources, church archives, etc.).
