Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are seeking a Research Associate/Fellow to join a project funded by Innovate UK at the University of Nottingham, working in partnership with TherageniX Ltd. The project aim is to develop an advanced therapeutic using genetic augmentation for enhanced bone repair using clinical samples. The role holder will be involved in the design, build and testing of pivotal gene delivery, cell differentiation and hydrogel scaffold-based systems. The successful candidate will join highly motivated and multidisciplinary research teams across the School of Pharmacy; and in collaboration with spin-out TherageniX and East midlands trauma centre and the BRC Musculoskeletal theme of the Nottingham NIHR.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are currently seeking a Research Associate/Fellow to join a multidisciplinary research project funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) – ‘Mucus-penetrating Peptide Nanoparticles for gene augmentation of CFTR’ – to undertake research on the design and development of a novel class gene therapy for the genetic correction CF by gene augmentation and gene editing strategies. Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are looking for a researcher, whose expertise lies in applied mathematics and/or statistics, to work with Dr Kirsty Bolton on a University of Nottingham funded project. The central aim of the project is to develop and apply models of respiratory disease transmission in school settings, in collaboration with the Face It study team led by Professor Kavita Vedhara.

The project will involve reviewing mathematical models of respiratory virus spread in schools, implementing an appropriate model, and generating simulated data from the model with data-quality guided by Face-It engagement data to examine (i) the potential to infer transmission parameters within schools from observational studies, and (ii) the potential power of a RCT for face mask efficacy against respiratory virus transmission in schools under different epidemiological conditions.

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The research will involve unravelling regulatory mechanism of cell cycle by plasmodium kinases in parasite proliferative stages within mosquito vector. This is to identify parasite target for the divergent kinases that are involved in parasite cell cycle and cell division, dissect the signalling network and how key substrates of the kinases regulate key parasite proliferation stages. The work will involves gene targeting both conditional knockdown and CRISPR-CAS9 gene editing using rodent malaria parasites, cutting edge cell biology, phosphorylation assay and phosphor-proteomics.
