7. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral candidate with strong soil science and biogeochemistry background to work on a newly funded project titled “Anthropogenic soil memories”. The project investigates the physical, chemical, and microbial evolution of riparian legacy sediments/soils with and without milldams over a period of 100 years. The study will explore how soils change from highly anoxic conditions (with dams) to drained, oxic profiles following dam removal (short and long term changes). In addition to physical characteristics (texture, aggregation, etc), soil samples will be evaluated for carbon, nitrogen, and iron concentrations and speciation and associated microbial communities, functional genes, and processes.
