1. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Delaware gamma-ray group is a member of the VERITAS and CTAO projects, and has played a leading role in the technical and scientific development of these facilities. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with data and Monte Carlo simulations from both projects. They may also contribute to the development of the novel prototype Schwarzchild-Couder telescope. Scientific interests of the group are broad, and include the study of high energy emission from Galactic sources such as gamma-ray binary systems, supernova remnants and pulsar wind nebulae, and the search for counterparts to recently identified ultra-high energy gamma-ray sources.

2. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Gundlach group is developing and using femtosecond time-resolved spectroscopic and microscopic techniques to investigate excited state dynamics in hybrid and solid-state materials. Transport and transfer of energy are the most critical processes that determine the evolution of a system, and they are essential for a broad range of applications. In particular, the coupling between excitations is essential for the transfer or transduction and can occur on time scales as short as a few femtoseconds. The necessary experimental techniques to study these processes are developed, improved, and applied to a broad range of materials systems in our group.

4. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Hadden Lab (https://sites.udel.edu/jhadden/) in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Delaware is seeking a postdoctoral fellow. The Hadden Lab specializes in molecular dynamics simulations of viral proteins and their assemblies, particularly capsids. Beyond serving simply as structural components of viruses, capsids actively participate in the viral infection cycle and represent promising drug targets. Under the supervision of Dr. Jodi Hadden-Perilla, the postdoctoral fellow will take the lead in leveraging molecular dynamics simulations of virus capsids to advance the search for antivirals.

9. Postdoctoral Position

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

Optical clocks are the most accurate instruments ever realized by humankind. They have great potential for fundamental physics discovery as quantum sensors, e.g. for low-frequency gravitational wave detection or for dark matter searches. However, thus far optical clocks have used the same basic modality since the first atomic clocks were realized: uniform state preparation and interrogation of a sample of atoms. In contrast the quantum information science (QIS) toolbox has fine-grained controls now available where single atoms in large arrays are individually controlled, interrogated, and even entangled with other atoms. We seek to leverage the many-fold technical QIS advances to develop new algorithms for optical clocks as sensors for new physics, in collaboration with other QuSeC-TAQS researches.
