MQIR is a multidisciplinary team of imaging scientists, bioengineers, MR physicists, CT researchers, and radiologists, and has close collaborations with clinicians including orthopaedic surgeons, endocrinologists, and rheumatologists.

3. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

A full-time postdoctoral scholar position is available for a highly motivated scientist interested in biostatistical analysis and discrete choice measurement for healthcare and treatment-related outcomes and health economics research. The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to assist with all aspects of a newly funded Department of Defense 4-year project. They will work within the UCSF Program for Pharmacoeconomics and Policy Studies (PRoPEPS) led by Dr. Leslie Wilson and in conjunction with Hangar Clinics Nationally, as well as with other research projects in PRoPEPS, but with a large focus on statistical analysis. The goal is to better understand how to translate behavioral economics into clinical practice across a wide range of new technologies.

4. Postdoctoral Position 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be expected to make substantial contributions to research examining the impacts of Medicaid pregnancy dental benefits among pregnant people and their children who were exposed to the policies while in utero. This project will combine multiple survey and administrative data sources, including the Medicaid T-MSIS Analytic Files (TAF). There will opportunities for the Postdoctoral Fellow to both collaborate and lead on manuscripts related to this and other research topics, as well as to propose project ideas that could be accomplished with the available data resources. The Postdoctoral Fellow is also expected to take advantage of the many resources available at UCI (e.g., colloquia, workshops, faculty expertise) to develop a research career. Funding for conference travel and professional development is available. The start date for this appointment is negotiable but is anticipated to be in Spring or Summer 2024. Remote work is possible and negotiable, but some in-person presence is strongly preferred.

A full-time postdoctoral scholar fellowship position is available for a highly motivated scientist interested in biostatistics, pharmacogenomics, cardiology, and precision medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Akinyemi Oni-Orisan at the University of California, San Francisco. The major scientific focus of the position will be to generate, manage, and analyze large datasets containing electronic health records, genomic data, drug regimens, and clinical outcomes. The laboratory currently has projects identify the genetic and social determinants of pharmacological drug response among racial/ethnic minorities, elucidating the clinical validity of CHD polygenic risk scores for statin ASCVD prevention by leveraging real-world data from the Kaiser Permanente Research Bank (KPRB) and validating key findings in the Million Veteran Program (MVP) cohort of the Veterans Affairs (VA) Health Care system, and candidate variants/genes/pathways associated with new-onset diabetes susceptibility in statin users.

D. E. Shaw Research is seeking Ph.D.–level scientists to join our New York–based team. This is a unique opportunity to develop and work with transformative technology in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment. Candidates should have expertise in computational biophysics or chemistry, structural biology, or drug discovery. Relevant areas of experience might include direct application of molecular dynamics or machine learning to drug discovery, computer-aided drug design, molecular modeling, cheminformatics, fragment-based approaches, medicinal chemistry, biochemical and biophysical assay development, or target analysis and selection. The candidates will work with other team members on developing deep learning algorithms for image segmentation and predicting osteoarthritis progression.
