1. Postdoctoral Position in Pathology
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Ignazio Cali at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The Cali lab is interested in understanding the molecular basis of comorbid neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., prion disease and Alzheimer’s disease or chronic traumatic disease) to investigate reciprocal relationship of co-existing proteinopathies by in vivo and in vitro approaches.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
2. Postdoctoral Position in Biophysics and Fluorescence Expansion Microscopy
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The candidate will primarily be responsible for working on a project funded by a private foundation to develop a super-resolution microscopy method using novel soft hydrogel materials. It is required that the candidate will have extensive experience in eukaryotic cell culture and fluorescence microscopy. Further skills in image processing in ImageJ and MATLAB or other C-based programming languages are preferred. It is not required, but also ideal, if the candidate has experience in extracellular matrix/mechanobiology or MALDI mass spectrometry.

3. Postdoctoral Position in Corrosion and Fluorescence Microscopy
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Department of Physics at Case Western Reserve University, College of Arts and Sciences, seeks one postdoctoral researcher to conduct research in the laboratory of Professor Lydia Kisley starting as soon as the candidate is available. The ideal candidate will work at the interface of physical, materials, and analytical chemistry and condensed matter physics to study corrosion at the nanoscale. Overall, the Kisley Lab studies materials using single molecule microscopy with the goal to advance the single molecule materials field toward more complex, realistic conditions.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
4. Postdoctoral Position in Molecular Biomarker Core
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
This position will work closely with the Core Director to help core users design projects involving the collection, storage, and analysis of human specimens, and independently oversee the implementation of said projects. The research associate will also support the core director’s program of research, which employs large-scale omic techniques and machine learning-based analyses to identify precision blood biomarkers for human brain injury.
The research associate will support these various projects by managing a biorepository of human specimens, performing or supervising various molecular biology tasks such as nucleic acid isolation, PCR, and immunoassays, as well as assisting with the technical development of novel high-throughput RNA-based biomarker screening methods. This position will order supplies, help monitor project budgets, maintain the laboratory space and equipment, and work to ensure and document laboratory-wide regulatory compliance.

5. Postdoctoral Position in Pharmacology
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
A Postdoctoral Scholar position is open in the Department of Pharmacology in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. Currently, the laboratory is funded by the NIH on a project that focuses on discovering novel non-retinoid modulators to correct the misfolding and mistrafficking of a visual G protein-coupled receptor, rhodopsin mutants associated with the disease called retinitis pigmentosa in a context of developing novel therapeutic strategy preventing blindness. These pathogenic mutants activate cellular stress response triggering photoreceptors’ death.
Our lab is also interested in understanding the molecular bases of photoreceptor cell death related to rhodopsin misfolding and in developing interventions to inhibit the apoptotic processes to protect cells of the visual system. In addition, we investigate the role of the galanin G protein-coupled receptor signaling in neuroprotection against agerelated macular degeneration.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
6. Postdoctoral Position in Hematology/ Oncology
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Our research interest is to study molecular mechanisms of metastasis and therapy resistance of cancer and immune cells for the development of novel therapeutic strategy. Our research takes comprehensive approaches combining cell biology, immunology, chemical genetics, proteomics, single cell transcriptomics, metabolomics, and murine models to uncover underlying therapeutic targets for cancer metastasis and minimal residual disease.
Experience in small animal handling, flow cytometry, and FACS analysis is preferred but not essential. They be highly motivated to develop their own research projects with a background in immunology. Exceptional oral and written communications skills are required.

7. Postdoctoral Position in Nutrition
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We seek a highly motivated and skilled researcher with an interest in host-microbiota interactions to join our newly established lab as a post-doc with an anticipated start date in March 2023 or earlier. Using experimental models involving cells, organoids, and mice, the qualified candidate will investigate how the gut microbiota interacts with the host intestinal epithelium to promote homeostasis and how these interactions become altered in pathological states, like inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Specific areas of interest include understanding the functional impact of microbiota-derived small molecules on host physiology, including cell metabolism and gene expression. The qualified candidate will also be encouraged to develop new and independent lines of inquiry based on the outcomes of these studies.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
8. Postdoctoral Position in Structural Biology (NMR) & Biochemistry
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
A fully funded postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Dr. Yi Zhang at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The Zhang lab investigates topics at the interface of chemistry and biology, focusing on elucidating the molecular basis of cellular pathways important for human health and disease biology. The candidate should have a solid structural biology (NMR) background and will primarily study macromolecular interactions in vitro and in cells. The candidate also has the opportunity to assume an assistant manager role at the high field NMR facility.
