1. Fully Funded PhD Position in normal and malignant hematopoiesis

Summary of PhD Program:

Dahlin’s team focuses on charting basophil and mast cell differentiation at single-cell level in health and hematologic diseases, including systemic mastocytosis and myeloproliferative neoplasms. This is performed using the state-of-the-art single-cell omics technologies complemented with functional experiments. The current team consists of the principal investigator, three doctoral students, and one postdoc, which together cover the areas of experimental research, bioinformatics, and applied mathematics. The group is part of the Division of Immunology and Allergy.

3. Fully Funded PhD Position in spatial omics in multiple sclerosis

Summary of PhD Program:

Our research group has performed single-cell/spatial omics studies, identifying for instance several cell states within the oligodendrocyte lineage in development and disease (Science 2016, Dev Cell 2018, Nature Medicine 2018, Nature 2019, Nature Biotechnology 2021, 2022, Neuron 2022, Nature 2023, among others). Our recent findings suggest that oligodendrocyte lineage cells might present other functional properties than previously thought, transitioning for instance to disease-associated states. The PhD student project will focus on the application and computational analysis of spatial transcriptomic and epigenomic technologies.

4. Fully Funded PhD Position in Optometry

Summary of PhD Program:

The doctoral project aims to improve cornea diagnostics and keratoconus care, and in the project the doctoral student will collaborate with the cornea clinic at St. Erik’s Eye Hospital. In your role as a doctoral student, you will, among other things, manage databases, perform measurements with various ophthalmological imaging instruments in patients with different types of corneal ectasia in different stages, and assess their visual function at different times. Finally, you will design and manage image analysis algorithms. The doctoral student will also have a leading role in the projects and run them together with supervisors. The projects are interdisciplinary and the supervisor team consists of professionals with different skills.
