5. Postdoctoral PositionĀ 

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

There is an immediate opening for a postdoc position in the Coulson- Thomas laboratory at the College of Optometry, University of Houston, to work on developing stem cells and their hyaluronan rich glycocalyx for treating corneal diseases. The candidate is expected to isolate and maintain primary cells, including corneal epithelial cells, keratocytes and endothelial cells, and also maintain established immortalized cell lines. The candidate is also expected to work with knock-out models, including carrying out surgeries in mice. In the Coulson- Thomas lab, each investigator is responsible for maintaining the mouse colonies involved in their own studies in order to ensure the highest standards are maintained, including animal identification, minimal husbandry and genotyping.Ā
