Are you holding PhD degree and looking for Postdoctoral Fellowships? University of Kentucky, Kentucky invites multiple online application for Postdoctoral Fellowships in various research areas. Candidates interested in Postdoctoral Fellowships can check the details and may apply as soon as possible.
1. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are currently seeking a skilled bioinformatics specialist to work full-time in a collaborative lab environment at the University of Kentucky. This position will collaborate with the Investigator, Co-Investigator, postdoctoral fellows, and students to develop, implement, and execute a variety of computational methods and tools across several contemporary multiplex technologies.
This role will focus developing analysis pipelines to assess the neurobiological basis of aging and degenerative diseases in the CNS. Preference will be given for candidates with documented experience with computational biology, probabilistic models, statistics, machine learning, and discrete mathematics; ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets, such as multi-sample single cell RNAseq, CITE-seq, ATAC-seq, and bulk RNAseq studies.

2. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Weisrock Lab of the Biology Department in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky is looking for a full-time postdoc to join the lab and work on research related to ongoing phylogenetic and/or population genetic projects. Ongoing research projects in the lab include studying how hybridization and gene flow influence genome structure across a radiating clade of lemurs and developing conservation genetic tools for endangered newts. The hired postdoc would also have opportunities to participate in the development of new research projects.
The Weisrock Lab research program comprises a broad range of interests, with no one major research focus, or taxonomic system. Generally, we use DNA sequence data to study patterns of genetic variation within and between species, and we use these data to learn more about the histories and processes that have shaped these patterns. This includes very fine-scale studies of variation within species to learn, for example, how changing environments or human-mediated factors are influencing populations, to the comparison of genomic data from divergent species separated by millions of years to reconstruct phylogenetic relationships and learn something about species diversification. PhD Required.

3. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scholar to join a highly dynamic team of scientists from the University of Kentucky, Penn State University, Purdue University, and the US Forest Service Southern Research Station who are working on the multidisciplinary project “Future-proofing forests through a genetically informed reforestation/restoration decision network”. The postdoctoral scholar will join the team to work to develop a decision network that integrates species-specific information to inform seed collection planning, seed orchard development, nursery production scheduling, and planting site selection to ensure all planting activities result in trees with optimal adaptation to future climates of forest tree species, modeling population responses to climate in tree species native to the eastern US, and delineating climate-smart seed sourcing strategies for resilient forests.

4. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Center for Oral Health Research seeks a Postdoctoral fellow for working in the role of bacteria-host interactions and aging on gingival immune responses associated with oral dysbiosis and periodontitis using in vitro (cell cultures) and in vivo (mouse) models. This position requires a PhD with excellent teaching, organizational, and communication skills with at least 1-2 years of postdoctoral research experience in cellular and molecular biology, particularly with an emphasis in eukaryotic cell biology involving tissue culture experience, use of mouse models as well as experience in flow cytometry analysis, qRT-PCR, ELISA, siRNA cell transfection, Western blot, immunofluorescence, and immunohistochemistry techniques. Experience in working with mouse models of periodontal disease and aging, single cell RNA sequencing, and growing/maintaining bacterial cultures would be desirable.

5. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
Applicants must be eligible to compete for federally-funded postdoctoral grants. This includes the eligibility requirement that, by the time of award, the individual must be a citizen or a non-citizen national of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence. They also must have completed the doctoral degree within the past two years, or longer with justification, or will complete the doctoral degree before the date of appointment. Preference will be given to applicants who do not have a prior or present postdoctoral appointment at UK. Applicants who received their terminal degree at UK should be affiliated with a research group other than the one in which they did their prior research to expand their research experience.

6. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The College of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology at University of Kentucky is seeking motivated Postdoctoral Scholars to study novel immune targets for colon and pancreatic cancers in a collaborative team approach. We will test approaches to examine the interplay between fibroblasts, macrophages and T cells in order to examine therapeutic targets. Human primary cell culture and mouse models will be used to examine immune phenotypes and develop new drug studies. Experience with mouse work, flow cytometry, and immune cell analysis is preferable.

7. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
This position is for a postdoctoral scholar to support an NIH-funded community-engaged research project on drinking water disinfection byproducts in the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology at the University of Kentucky. Disinfection byproducts, which are toxic chemicals formed during the chlorination of drinking water, are among the most ubiquitous contaminants of drinking water in the United States and globally. They are the primary source of Safe Drinking Water Act Maximum Contaminant Level Violations in the US. The successful applicant will conduct research using both traditional and community-based participatory methods on the factors governing the formation of and exposure to disinfection byproducts in rural drinking water systems as part of an NIEHS-funded research to action project.
