Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
We are looking for a researcher with a PhD in socio-cultural anthropology and the expertise necessary to conduct independent fieldwork in Vanuatu. Previous work in economic anthropology, valuation studies, STS, or other relevant specializations will be considered an advantage but not a requirement. Primarily, we are looking for a capable fieldworker. Ethnographers who specialise on other Pacific Islands may also be considered for the post, but priority will be given to Vanuatu specialists.

2. Postdoctoral Position in Macroeconometrics
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The position is part of the project “Structural Analysis of Non-Gaussian Time Series with Applications to Climate and Macroeconomy” funded by the Academy of Finland. The primary aim of the project is to develop new econometric methods related to non-Gaussian structural vector autoregressive (SVAR) models and apply them to study the economic effects of climate change. The project builds upon our previous research on SVAR models. The position is located in the Discipline of Economics. The successful applicant should contribute to the research themes of the project. In addition, they are expected to actively contribute to teaching in the master’s and doctoral programmes in economics (up to 5% of the annual working time), and other research activities of the group.

3. Postdoctoral Position in Carbon Action
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The aims of the CarbonAction are to 1) design climate-smart agricultural solutions that are widely beneficial to food systems, 2) test their practical applications, 3) understand carbon (C) stabilization processes and develop a verification system for the carbon sequestration and other climate impacts to be used in policy and markets, and 4) develop economic measures and policies to promote the implementation of these solutions in Finland and abroad.
The postdoctoral researcher will join a multidisciplinary team to study soil carbon sequestration and climate impacts of agricultural practices with a strong focus on soil processes of carbon stabilization and C stock changes in different agricultural management practices. This project has tight collaboration with several national in international collaborators through the abovementioned network.

5. Postdoctoral Position in Developmental Biology
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
This project aims to investigate how environmental fluctuations modify developmental processes at the molecular level by using stomatal lineage as a model system. Stomatal lineage behavior, and thus, stomata production is modulated by environmental information. Our research combines state-of-the-art molecular genetics, imaging, and plant-environment studies to assess regulation of stomatal developmental plasticity in leaves of the seed plants. We use Arabidopsis and Norway spruce as a model species.
