The research is funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Regenerative Medicine Minnesota. We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral physics researcher with expertise in MR imaging to join the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Fagan Ph.D. at Mayo Clinic’s flagship campus in Rochester, Minnesota. The focus of this position is on the development of parallel transmit techniques for body imaging at 7 Tesla using a commercially-built 8Tx/32Rx 1H radiofrequency coil. The RF coil also has an 8Tx/Rx 2H array and there will be an opportunity to work on the novel field of deuterium metabolic imaging (DMI) for early-stage cancer detection.

The Immunoengineering Lab in the Department of Immunology at the Mayo Clinic Arizona is seeking two Postdoc Research Fellows in the areas of autoimmunity and transplantation. The Immunoengineering Lab research focuses on developing and applying novel ways of inducing immune tolerance using integrated approaches that combine laboratory, clinical, and computational methods. The engineering of immune cells is an integral part of these novel methods. The focuses of current research projects: 1) to develop chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) Tregs with enhanced stability and functionality for inducing immune tolerance in transplantation and xenotransplantation; 2) to study Tregs in autoimmune diseases such as psoriatic arthritis and apply engineering strategies to develop autologous Treg therapies for these patients.

One of these therapeutic targets is tau-tubulin kinase 1 (TTBK1), the central nervous system-specific tau kinase, which enhances tau phosphorylation in the entorhinal cortex where early tau pathology evolves.
