1. Postdoctoral Position / Research Scientist
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Baliga group is seeking an outstanding research scientist to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to dissect host-pathogen interactions in tuberculosis. We are seeking applicants with diverse skillsets in technology development, computational modeling, and laboratory experimentation to develop innovative systems biology approaches for characterizing complex pathogen phenotypes. Active projects in the laboratory are focusing on understanding the evolution of antimicrobial resistance in tuberculosis at a systems scale but in mechanistic detail and at single cell resolution.
The driving motivation is to develop novel systems biology and ML/AI approaches to shorten treatment regimen for TB, while preventing the emergence of AMR. Suitable candidates will have the opportunity to participate and contribute to ongoing projects, and also pursue their own research interests. The position offers unique international collaboration opportunities to translate basic science advances towards clinical applications, such as development of diagnostics and therapeutics, including point-of-care devices.
Application Deadline: Open Until Filled
2. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Wei Lab works in the highly cross-disciplinary field of molecular and cellular analysis, tumor epigenetics, and systems biomedicine. We develop and implement innovative single-cell/spatial multi-omics technologies with novel computational approaches to investigate the cutting-edge cancer biology questions with a balance between discovery and clinical translation.
We are particularly interested in (1) the cause and consequence of tumor heterogeneity and the intricate cell-cell interactions in the tumor microenvironment for advancing cancer treatment; (2) tumor epigenetic plasticity/dysregulation and its contribution to the treatment-induced adaptive therapy resistance and adaptive mutagenesis; (3) liquid biopsy-based rare cell analysis for predictive cancer diagnostics and immunotherapy. The Wei lab is currently a part of the NIH-funded Cancer Systems Biology Consortium (CSBC), NIH-funded Physical Sciences in Oncology Network (PS-ON), and NIH-funded Innovative Molecular Analysis Technologies (IMAT) Program.

4. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Kuchina lab at the Institute for Systems Biology is seeking a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Fellow to lead the projects on systems biology of bacteria in complex biological samples such as microbiota, biofilm or the host-pathogen interface. We have established a single-cell RNA sequencing approach designed specifically for bacteria, which we seek to further develop and apply towards gaining an understanding of transcriptome-wide phenotypic variation of invasive intracellular pathogens. We are also developing approaches for measuring phenotypic heterogeneity and single-cell behavior of bacteria in single- or polymicrobial biofilms.

5. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Kane lab at the Institute for Systems Biology is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow interested in the biology of aging to lead projects focused on understanding, measuring and predicting heterogeneity in aging, and particularly identifying determinants and biomarkers of frailty. The ideal candidate will have experience in mouse models, epigenetics, and/or computational modelling of large datasets. Current projects include the analysis of large-scale longitudinal aging mouse datasets (health data eg. behavior, whole blood counts, grip, ECG, and molecular data eg. metabolomics, transcriptomics, DNA methylation, gut microbiome) and exploration of longitudinal epigenetic (histone marks, DNA methylation, transcriptome) markers of frailty.

6. Postdoctoral Position
Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:
The Hood-Price Lab at the Institute for Systems Biology seeks highly motivated postdoctoral candidates in the area of biomarker discovery and validation of new study (T1D in collaboration with Prof. Yue Lu at Univ. of Utah) and ongoing study (PTSD as part of PTSD Systems Biology Consortium). We are employing systems biology approaches combined with innovative microfluidics and nanoengineering to characterize bulk and single extracellular vesicles to discover early biomarkers and better understand the underlying pathophysiology of the disease.
