Summary of PhD Program:
The focus area for the fellowship position will be related to the importance of social belonging and identity for democratic participation in various arenas (such as social media platforms, school and leisure). It will be relevant to use both national and international questionnaire data in combination with qualitative data. The PhD project aims to quantify the role of snowdrifts in mountain accumulation and sublimation. Simulations of snowdrifts in local and regional climate models are poorly quantified, leading to uncertainty in estimates of mass loss through sublimation and redistribution of snow. The PhD candidate will develop and conduct a field campaign focusing on observing how snowdrifts affect sublimation and snow distribution in catchment areas and at regional scales.
