We have recently shown (Nature Chemistry 11 (2019) 638-643 and video at http://nuvision.ncl.ac.uk/Play/18143) that a chemical looping reactor can produce a pure stream of hydrogen if the reactor employs a well-designed oxygen carrier material (OCM). Such novel chemical looping processes will lead to transformational developments for the chemical industry and associated energy technologies.
