Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), Norway invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.
Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.
1. 1-2 Fully Funded PhD Position in Numerical Mathematics for Two-Phase Flow
Summary of PhD Program:
The PhD positions are part of the project “Physics-Adapted Numerical Methods for Two-Phase Flow” (PANum) funded by the Research Council of Norway. The project is a joint collaboration between Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and Hasselt University in Belgium.
In PANum the goal is to formulate and implement numerical methods that are not only robust, efficient and have a low numerical error, but that also guarantee that important physical properties are fulfilled in the numerical solution. Ultimately, PANum will lead to a computational algorithm that reliably simulates two-phase flow.
Application Deadline: 15th October 2025
2. Fully Funded PhD Position in Semi-Autonomous Teleoperated Robots
Summary of PhD Program:
Teleoperation becomes necessary when a robotic system cannot be designed to run with full autonomy, often due to the complexity of the task or the unsuitable robot environment. The operator gives control inputs to the robot through an input device (joystick, haptic input device, exoskeleton, etc.). However, in many scenarios, it is inefficient or too costly to implement a pure teleoperated system.
Application Deadline: 15th September 2025
