In the current call, short-term doctoral researcher positions ranging from 3 to 6 months will be available for the year 2026 (up to 5 person-years in total). These doctoral researcher positions are primarily intended for doctoral researchers working as professionals in healthcare with the degree of Licentiate of Medicine, Licentiate of Dentistry or Master of Health Sciences. The positions are fixed-term for 3 to 6 months, starting at the earliest on 1.1.2026 and ending at the latest on 31.12.2026.

Summary of PhD Program:
We are now looking for applicants for Three-year doctoral researcher positions in the Health and Biosciences Doctoral Programme (HBS-DP), Human Sciences Doctoral Programme (HS-DP), Information Technology and Electrical Engineering Doctoral Programme (ITEE-DP), and Technology and Natural Sciences Doctoral Programme (TNS-DP) of the University of Oulu. 5. Fully Funded PhD Position in integrated circuit design for time-resolving CMOS single-photon avalanche diode (SPAD) arrays
Summary of PhD Program:
As a doctoral researcher, you will be part of the research group in the field of time-resolving CMOS SPAD array integrated circuit design. You will participate in an IC design research project in which an integrated circuit for time-gated Raman spectroscopy will be designed using CMOS technology with SPADs as a library component. You will be designing circuit blocks, e.g., Time-to-Digital Converters (TDC), Delay-Locked Loops (DLL), digital readout and control logic, and the whole time-resolving CMOS SPAD array, including the I/O pad ring.
