Are you holding Master’s degree and looking for fully funded PhD positions? University of Greenwich, London, England invites online application for multiple funded PhD Programs / fully funded PhD positions in various research areas.
Candidates interested in fully funded PhD positions can check the details and may apply as soon as possible. Interested and eligible applicants may submit their online application for PhD programs via the University’s Online Application Portal.
1. Fully Funded PhD Position in Characterization of macromolecular complex mixtures – development of analytical methodology for qualitative and quantitative characterization of ethoxylated polymers and their blends
Summary of PhD Program:
The project will critically evaluate NMR techniques – diffusion, electrophoretic and relaxation NMR – but in its early stage, will not prioritize any specific characterization technique. As the non-desired polymers do not contain any chromophore and are of similar composition to the desired ones, the technique of choice must detect all polymer populations.
Application Deadline: 18 May 2025
2. Fully Funded PhD Position
Summary of PhD Program:
Our vision is to expand our world-leading Multi-Disciplinary and Multi-Scale Modelling expertise in both reach and ability, to tackle major societal challenges affecting the environment, quality of life, safety, security, and the economy. This will be achieved through the amalgamation and expansion of two existing award-winning teams: the Centre for Safety, Resilience and Protective Security (CSRPS) and the Computational Science and Engineering Group (CSEG), creating the Multi-scale, Multi-disciplinary Modelling for Impact (M34Impact) platform. Both teams excel at developing and applying mathematical models, computational simulations and bespoke software to create digital worlds that predict physically accurate outcomes addressing a wide range of societal challenges.

3. Fully Funded PhD Position in Developing Sustainable Intrusion Detection Systems for Industrial IoT by Leveraging Digital Twin and Signal Processing
Summary of PhD Program:
The rapid adoption of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies has transformed manufacturing, offering greater efficiency, real-time monitoring, and data-driven decision-making. However, this interconnectivity introduces significant cybersecurity vulnerabilities, leaving systems exposed to cyber-attacks. Traditional intrusion detection systems (IDS) often fall short in handling the real-time, large-scale data demands of IIoT and lack sustainability considerations, such as energy efficiency. This research proposes a sustainable, high-performance IDS that leverages digital twin technology and advanced signal processing to detect cyber threats in real-time while minimizing energy consumption.
Application Deadline: 31 Mar 2025
4. Fully Funded PhD Position in Exploring and understanding inclusivity of LGBTQIA+ recreational athletes in the UK
Summary of PhD Program:
Researchers, practitioners, and policy makers have shown that physical, mental, and social health research disparities exist between lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual (LGBTQIA+) populations and others. Such exclusion from the research process has contributed to a health knowledge deficit for LGBTQIA+ populations and resulted in limited evidence-based interventions that address the many health inequalities that disproportionately affect these populations across the lifespan. When compared to other populations, research evidence shows that LGBTQIA+ populations experience higher rates of chronic disease (e.g., diabetes, coronary heart disease, and certain forms of cancer), mental health symptoms and disorders (e.g., major depressive disorder, anxiety, substance use, and suicide), and social health inequalities (e.g., violence, harassment, discrimination, and exclusion).

5. Fully Funded PhD Position in De-colonising Maritime Greenwich: Confronting histories and legacies of empire, c. 1694-2025
Summary of PhD Program:
Since at least the seventeenth century ‘Maritime Greenwich’ has been profoundly shaped by Britain’s colonial and imperial engagements and their legacies. From naval dockyards and mercantile wharves, through flourishing networks of mariners, merchants and investors to the globalised, racially and ethnically diverse communities of the present, the places and people of Greenwich bear the imprint of empire. This project will harness these rich, complex and sometimes troubling histories to assess how the local and the global made Greenwich, and to explore how Greenwich is confronting the legacies of empire and debates around decolonisation.
