Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Herman lab at The Ohio State University is looking to hire a postdoctoral scientist, effective immediately. Our lab is located within the Department of Molecular Genetics and studies the regulation of gene expression in a model eukaryote, the budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The fellow will be specifically engaged in studies examining how a biomolecular condensate, known as the P-body, influences the levels of tubulin mRNAs. The Postdoctoral Scholar position will work with the mentor, Dr. Susie Breitenstein, with a focus on intervention and behavior of child, family, and parents and community engaged research. We are looking for a skilled and highly motivated postdoctoral scholar with expertise in biochemistry, cell biology, structural biology, biophysics or related areas to conduct cutting-edge research on several projects focused on the role of actin binding proteins (e.g., plastins) and actin-specific bacterial toxins in the pathogenesis of human hereditary and infectious diseases, and cancer.
