7. Fully Funded PhD Position in Polymer Physical Chemistry

Summary of PhD Program:

The PhD project will focus on investigating the coupling between polyelectrolytes and their counterions. Polyelectrolytes are polymers with ionic groups attached to their chains, accompanied by an equal number of counterions that ensure overall charge neutrality. In a hydrated polyelectrolyte system, these counterions typically dissociate from the polymer chains, and their mobility largely determines key properties such as chain hydration, chain conformation, intermolecular interactions, and transport properties. However, the effective charge density of the polymer chains and the mobility of their counterions can be significantly reduced if the counterions and ionic groups interact strongly enough to form ion pairs.

10.
Fully Funded PhD Position in T Cell Immunoinformatics

Summary of PhD Program:

Large efforts have been dedicated to developing prediction models governing TCR interactions. However, overall the accuracy is limited, and characterizing and predicting these interactions remains a significant challenge. This, we postulate, is due to three interconnected challenges and conditions a) TCR diversity, b) limited quality and quantity of data biased towards a few well-studied epitopes and c) lack of Deep Learning (DL) tools tailored specifically to the particularities of TCR interactions.
