We are excited to offer this exciting opportunity for a research associate to join the research laboratory of Dr Donald Ward in the Michael Smith Building, at The University of Manchester. ​​​​​​​ The purpose of the research is to determine how phosphate inhibits the calcium-sensing receptor (CaR), and thus how hyperphosphataemia drives secondary hyperparathyroidism. 2. Postdoctoral Position in Developmental Signalling

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

An 18-month postdoctoral research associate position funded by the BBSRC is available to study the extracellular regulation of BMP signalling in the Drosophila embryo. This project, which represents a collaboration between the Ashe and Baldock labs, will use cutting-edge approaches to study the function and localisation of extracellular BMP regulators. This research will capitalise on previous research in the Ashe lab that has uncovered mechanisms of BMP signal reception and interpretation (e.g. Frampton et al, Bio Open 2022; Hoppe et al, Dev Cell 2020; Wilcockson et al, Dev Cell 2019). The Ashe and Baldock labs are part of larger, vibrant research groupings and located in a modern research building, supported by excellent core facilities.

5. Postdoctoral Position in Data Science

Summary of Postdoctoral Fellowship:

The Post-Doctoral Research Assistant in Data Science will be appointed jointly by The University of Manchester at Harwell (UoMaH) and STFC. They will be based, and managed, at the Harwell campus by the UoMaH Director and be affiliated to the Department of Computer Science. On the STFC side their work will be supervised by the Head of the Scientific Machine Learning Group.
